From Daphne’s award-winning television career to Arabella’s acting and therapy work, and from Zoe’s health advocacy to Oliver’s journey through medical school, let’s take a closer look at the remarkable lives of Dr. Oz’s children.
Daphne Oz
Daphne Oz, the eldest child of Dr. Oz, has carved her own path as a celebrated television host, author, and advocate for healthy living. Best known for her role as a co-host on ABC’s “The Chew,” she gained recognition for her warm personality, culinary expertise, and dedication to inspiring others to embrace a balanced lifestyle.
Reflecting on her upbringing, she once shared, “My father, both my grandfathers and my uncle are all surgeons so my mother and my grandmother have always been into complementary medicine and nutrition.”
She added, “We had this belief that food is this joyful, incredible celebratory place in our day. But it’s also this important way that you take care of yourself.”
Daphne’s professional achievements over the years have been nothing short of remarkable. In 2015, she and her “The Chew” team earned a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Informative Talk Show Host, solidifying her reputation as a dynamic media personality. However, her success did not stop there.
By 2020, she and her father were facing off at the Daytime Emmys in a lighthearted family rivalry. Both were nominated in two categories — Outstanding Informative Talk Show Host and Outstanding Talk Show — for the second consecutive year.
When asked if he was feeling the pressure of competing against his daughter, who had previously won the Emmy, Dr. Oz explained, “We are judged by how we improve the world, and the most important thing we do to improve it is to raise kids who are contributing.
“So I’m very proud of Daphne, mostly because of the two beautiful grandchildren she’s given us,” he continued. Daphne also spoke highly of her father, stating, “[…] He’s always learning and he’s such a natural teacher.”
Daphne’s journey to fame began long before the Emmys, rooted in her passion for healthy living during her college years. While living in a dorm, she authored her first book, “The Dorm Room Diet,” which introduced wholesome eating to students across the country.
This early milestone set the stage for her to begin hosting her first television show at just 25 years old. Now a wife and mother, Daphne continues to embody the ideal of a well-balanced modern woman.
“Three babies in, being a mom is front and center as I evaluate any career or investment opportunity. It informs all my decisions. It changes how I think about success, trade-offs and balance, and what I say yes or no to,” she shared.
Arabella Oz
Arabella Oz, Dr. Oz’s second child, has carved out a unique path blending creativity and compassion. In October 2020, Dr. Oz celebrated her 30th birthday with a heartfelt Facebook tribute.
“A very happy 30th birthday to my daughter Arabella, who is now working as a therapist and guiding people through our turbulent times. Her kindness and profound insights have brought joy into our lives – and her witty repartee still keeps her competitive siblings at bay,” the post read.
Arabella is known for her work as an actress, writer, and director, with her journey to the spotlight starting behind the scenes. After graduating from Columbia University with a degree in film, she dove into production on a short film.
Reflecting on that experience, Arabella admitted she struggled with directing actors due to her lack of understanding of the craft. “I was so horrified by how little I knew about how to speak to actors,” she once explained. “I didn’t know the process or how to communicate my ideas to them.”
To bridge this gap, she enrolled in an acting class. What began as a professional necessity quickly evolved into a passion for performance. Her acting career then saw her star in the 2016 drama “When Starlight Ends.”
The film earned a place in the 2017 Palm Beach International Film Festival, where Dr. Oz proudly attended to support his daughter’s burgeoning career. In addition to her creative endeavors, Arabella is also a Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
Her approach to therapy reflects her insightful and empathetic nature. She described her philosophy, “I approach therapy like a tuning fork – a space to find recurring resonance with who you are at your core.”
Beyond her career, in September 2024, Arabella celebrated a major personal milestone when she tied the knot. Daphne marked the occasion with a joyful Instagram post, sharing in part, “It was pure joy celebrating your nuptials with photos that speak for themselves…”
Dr. Oz also expressed his pride and gratitude, writing in part, “Thank you for the very kind messages about Arabella’s wedding, which was more than fun. We had the joy of looking around and seeing a life well lived with important decisions made in favor of elevating all of us.”
Zoe Oz
Zoe Oz, Dr. Oz’s third child, has fully embraced a health-conscious lifestyle, much like her father. Together, they have prioritized physical activity and balanced nutrition as key components of their daily routines.
Dr. Oz once shared how he has guided Zoe in fostering healthy habits, saying, “We will nudge Zoe to spend time with friends who we know do the right thing, in both their personal behaviors and health.”
As a teenager, Zoe worked with her father as a teen advisor for his book, “YOU: The Owner’s Manual for Teens,” where she helped translate complex medical concepts into relatable advice for young readers.
She also ran a blog on teenDailyStrength.com, offering thoughtful insights into healthy living. Despite her family’s fame, Zoe never felt external pressure regarding her lifestyle choices.
Zoe’s vibrant personality has made her a favorite among followers on social media, where she shares snapshots of her life. In 2022, she celebrated her 28th birthday with a reflective Instagram post, writing in part, “Goodbye 27! You were an interesting one.”
“[…] and with that, hello 28! I hope you bring the fruits of 27’s labor. And more Gigi time. Looking forward to what this year brings,” the post continued. In addition to personal updates, Zoe has used her platform to support initiatives she believes in.
In 2021, she shared a post endorsing Bilt Rewards, a loyalty program that turns rent payments into points, demonstrating her interest in innovative and practical solutions for everyday living. Then, her life entered an exciting new chapter in 2024 with several joyful milestones.
In February, she announced her engagement. Just weeks later, she revealed that she was expecting her first child. In March, Zoe celebrated her baby shower, posting heartfelt snaps of the event and thanking loved ones for their unwavering support.
By May, she and her fiancé welcomed their baby boy into the world. Zoe shared a touching photo of her newborn on Instagram, marking the start of her journey as a mother and the beginning of a beautiful new chapter in her life.
Oliver Oz
Oliver Oz, Dr. Oz’s youngest child and only son, has taken inspiration from his father’s life and career. According to his Instagram bio, Oliver is a Columbia medical school student and has amassed 11,000 followers at the time of writing.
